Fervor Ends Up In The Driftless Area

The Driftless Area & Vintage Country album coverDebuting at NYC’s Tribeca Film Fest is director Zachary Sluser’s neo-noir dark romantic drama-comedy The Driftless Area. The film stars Zooey Deschanel and Aubrey Plaza. Also in on the action is Fervor Records, who lent some classic mid-century Country singles to the soundtrack. 1959’s Don’t Hold Her So Close by Bob Cox, Sanford Clark’s 1967 Ramco Records’ 45 The Big Lie, and from Country great Dick Flood, 1967’s Sure Gets Dark When The Sun Goes Down and 1971’s Livin’ In The Lonely Zone. The Wannabe & Fervor Hit Tribeca

Mob thriller The Wannabe, starring Patricia Arquette, Michael Imperioli and Doug E. Doug, debuts at the Tribeca Film Festival this week. The Wannabe scrounged through Fervor’s stash of vintage vinyl and kept these greats to stick in the film: Mike Murray’s 1962 moody reverb drenched gem Hangin’, Roosevelt Nettles 1962 single for Chess Records Drifting Heart, two 1968 Soul Classics from The Soul Blenders – My Girl’s A Soul Girl and Blending Soul, and finally Carl Coccomo’s endearing 1952 bi-lingual duet Marry Only Me (Spose Solo E Me). Fervor’s Hans Olson Lands On Justified Soundtrack

The second soundtrack release from the FX mega-hit Justified is now released. JUSTIFIED: MUSIC FROM THE ORIG TELEVISION SERIES, VOL 2, dropped 4.15.15 by Sony’s soundtrack division, Madison Gate Records. Fervor Records has been extremely fortunate to have a multitude of songs featured across all seasons of Justified. However, it was Hans Olson’s song, South On 65 that ultimately landed a spot on the compilation. The distinctive sound of the is a testament to the remarkable ears of legendary Music Supervisor, Greg Sill.  Fervor Records is honored to be a part of the incredible Justified legacy.
