In 1970 singer/songwriter/producer Doug Davis inked a deal with Floyd Ramsey’s Phoenix, AZ based Ramco Records. Doug’s band Christopher Blue quickly churned out their first single; “Happy Just To Be Alive” b/w “You’ve Got What I Like.” The success of their debut convinced Ramco to offer Davis his own label imprint. Dubbed “Blue Ram,” the new label issued their first release in 1971, Christopher Blue’s “It’s Not Too Late” b/w “Don’t Worry Tracy.” The label followed up in 1972 with Christopher Blue’s “I’m Gonna Let Her Know” b/w “Floating On A Cloud.” The three 45s were the only recordings from the band, and by the mid 1970s they had faded into obscurity. Enter Fervor Records, who began looking after the Ramco catalogs in 2007. Fervor has breathed new life into these classics, seriously escalating the band’s cult status.
