Fayuca at LA Party (step and repeat)

Viva Fayuca!

As of today, Arizona’s premier Latin-Reggae-Rock band Fayuca reached 10,000 likes on Facebook, which is strangely the modern currency of the music industry.  Gone are the days of measuring success with charts and record sales..everyone wants to know how many ‘likes’ bands have, and how many YouTube views.

Well Fayuca is finally entering the ranks, thanks to all that touring nd dedication to their fans, and all the love coming back at ‘em.

With a flurry of activity since their Fervor Records debut Barrio Sideshow dropped in May, their fan-base has been exponentially growing at every turn, and it’s an international audience at that.

The video for their current single, Por Que Seguir, which is all in Spanish (and clocking in at 92K views), is in steady rotation on mtvU ever since it was selected as the viewers choice on the network’s ‘you pick’ show, The Freshmen.

Fans from Spanish-speaking nations have been flocking to Fayuca’s Facebook page since it’s launch.

Stay tuned for the next phase, and lookout for international tour announcements.  There are many more future Fayuqueros to find!

In the meantime, check out this other video for their English-language single Marialena.

Marialena Unlocked by Fans In Hours

Fayuca’s deep cut from Barrio Sideshow, Marialena, tells the story of a forbidden love, where the beautiful girl is mixed up with the wrong guy and pines for another.  Starring Fayuca drummer Raf, this timeless tale weaves Luchadore masks into a tale as old as time.

The video, which was the second single from their Fervor Records debut, was promised to be released by the label if the loyal fans shared the announcement post on Facebook at least 125 times.

This task only took a matter of hours before it was unleashed and available to the eager Fayuqueros.

The flurry of excitement over Marialena caught the attention of mtvU, who had been reviewing a third Fayuca video for rotation (Por Que Seguir).  MTV networks were so impressed, they pushed the other single/video through and it is now in regular rotation on their college-oriented channel, mtvU.

Check out the video for Marialena on YouTube, directed by Matty Steinkamp (Sundawg Media).
