Fox Network’s new dramedy Red Band Society has raided the Fervor Vintage vaults. 1960′s R&B great Roosevelt Nettles’ song, Drifting Heart, will be featured in the season finale (episode 218) of the CTV drama, Saving Hope. The tune, originally released on Mascot Records, was quickly licensed and re-released nationally by Chicago’s legendary Chess Records in 1962. Fervor Records has landed legendary vocalist Sanford Clark’s 1967 single, Calling All Hearts in the 20th Century Fox flick, Walking With Dinosaurs. Clark’s career has crossed paths with the likes of Lee Hazlewood, Ray Price, Roy Orbison and Keith Richards to name a few. The singer was also no stranger to the top of the Billboard charts. The Carrie Diaries, a 1980′s throwback series that follows Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw’s coming of age, is set to air another episode featuring Fervor Vintage Masters music. This will mark the third time Fervor Vintage has been heard on the new show, still in its first season.
The song is a 1979 early New Wave track called Heartless. The band is The Twisters, who made waves across the L.A. area in the late 70′s with their edgy punky pop stylings.
The Twisters sessions are not commercially available as of now, but are slated to surface from the Fervor Records archives soon. In the meantime, check out the track on the Fervor Records YouTube channel.
