The Goodwin Games, a new comedy on Fox (brought to you by the same folks behind How I Met Your Mother) will be featuring Fervor favorite Brian Page in this week’s episode. The track is Close My Eyes, a quintessential 80’s rock ballad, not a million miles away from Don Henley’s solo work.
Brian Page climbed the industry ladder through relentless touring, countless recording sessions and an endless dedication to Pop hooks.
He first caught A&R execs ears after his song Can We Go Back beat out 5,000 competitors to win the Budweiser National Battle of the Bands. Page appeared 6 times on TV juggernaut Star Search and was also signed to Chrysalis Records.
Tune in to Fox this Monday 6/24/13 for The Goodwin Games ep104, and catch a taste of Fervor Vintage Masters artist, Brian Page & The Next.
Find Close My Eyes on the Fervor Records release The Very Best of Brian Page, available on iTunes.Read More
What happens when you blend Grey’s Anatomy, The Sopranos, and House? You’d get The Mob Doctor, a new mystery-medical-crime-drama from Fox. Premiering last week, the new series features a little Fervor flavor in the second episode..
The show centers around resident surgeon Grace Devlin who has a personal debt to pay off to the Mob. Her moral obligations become compromised as she is asked to help ‘off’ certain patients in order to protect her own family.
Devlin’s double-life brings with it a certain level of bad-assery, which of course can only be properly conveyed with some confident, authentic 1970’s funk by none other than The Triplett Twins.
Their Superfly-esque tune Get It nails it with the groovy refrain: “Get it from the front now, get it from the back now, get it from side, get it all around now!”
Leon and Levi Triplett (actual twins who were mentored by the legendary Curtis Mayfield) put out several funk-tastic tracks back in their heyday, which are now part of the Fervor Vintage catalog. Their self-titled EP, The Triplett Twins, is available on iTunes.
Tune in this Monday, September 24th for episode 101 and catch the classic 1970 cut Get It by The Triplett Twins.
